Emely Taveras
is a queer, disabled first-generation Dominican American with a penchant for translating her experiences of chronic illness, sexual identity, and familial trauma. She is a wedding photographer turned essayist, film junkie, and sketchbook addict, collecting fragments of peace through pen, lens, and brush. She loves books, loud feelings, and talking about the hometown she escaped. Currently seeking calm (and good lighting) in Jersey City and NYC.
